Thoughts Before Forest - Nervous, Anxious, Excited, Not Confident!
Thu 15th Sep 2011 14:16 by I.Saw

As the big game closes in on us - RamZone reporter I.Saw looks ahead to the clash vs. Forest on Saturday and what it means to him!

Thoughts Before Forest

"You must be confident this time, best ever start since nineteen hundred and froze to death and Forest struggling", a point made frequently this week. But I'm not I protest, how can you be, you live for this game, for the ability to hold your head high especially when you are the wrong side of the border.

Nervous, anxious, excited and numerous other emotions yes, confident no. This game will bear no relevance to league positions, to recent performances, this game is about passion and desire.

Both sets of fans will create that special atmosphere with their passions, made even more savoury with the many connections such as Nathan Tyson, Robbie Earnshaw, Stevie McLaren etc.

Which set of players will show the greater desire is unknown but I can't imagine Nigel Clough demanding anything other than full commitment.

Commitment needs to be balanced with flair and in that area the Rams are still lacking, at Coventry we failed to create more than a couple of chances, we will have to take them if we are to come away from the City Ground heads held high.

Let's hope we can.

My Forest Memory

A Saturday in Feburary, the year 2009, a packed City Ground singing about "mist rolling in from the Trent", while Robbie Savage's bum winds up the locals.

Lewin Nyatanga bundling the ball across the line after minutes, Savage floating a perfect free kick and Rob Hulse with the slightest of touches adds a goal in the second half.

A two goal advantage is turned into three as Steve Davies scores from the spot.

Even going down to ten men with the forced withdrawal of Jay McEveley and a consolation goal for Billy Davies Trees through Earnshaw can't dampen our spirits.

A victory in the League over Forest at last after waiting thirty seven years. That's why I will always remember this match.

Dangerman

Matt Derbyshire, a player with passion, the vision to create and the ability to finish.

Score prediction

Rams 1 Forest 1
