A good point in which we more than held our own. At times we played a little too deep and consequently struggled to get the ball and keep possession, but looking back, we had the clearer chances and could easily have won.

Once again we gifted a goal with a cleared header inexplicably put back into the area by Miller for Ayala to loop in. Atonement came with a great cross in bundled home by Miller. After that, we exerted some pressure and Perkins came desperately close to scoring, hitting the inside of the post after another good move.

Signs were there that we are getting a better balance in midfield with decent ball retention and passing further up the field.

Second half, we were controlling the game until we lost Cubero and Orlandi. That enabled them to control midfield for a spell but we eventually pushed out and reasserted ourselves, Oriol overlapping to good effect and Miller on the end of successive chances.

All in all, a decent night and a showing of potential that we can get out of the mess we're in. Bring on Cardiff.

Good to hear Wizz - these stupid defensive mistakes are starting to annoy me. Seems we're a bit one dimensional away and at home with playing so deep and wish Riga would just have a go at a few more of these teams because many are there for the taking. This whole keeping possession is another big bear. I would've thought these players from Europe would have had that as there bread and butter.

Poll: Do you think Riga will still be in charge next Saturday?

It's not the European players struggling to keep possession - in the main

At times we just retreat to the edge of the area, leaving Miller 30 yards away on his own. Poor passes to him give us no chance of getting up in support and we inevitably lose possession and drop even deeper.

When we play a higher line, it compacts play and allows us to play less ambitious balls and keep possession.

At times we did that and looked much better for it.

One other thing from last night. Not many there, maybe 250, but great support the full 90 minutes.

Not forgetting that Boros keeper pulled off a worldy' from an Orlandi effort destined for the top corner........ Boro did look very leggy in the last 10 as well, which we exploited superbly.
