Looks like they didn't follow defamation laws and are being punished.

The words 'sledgehammer to crack a nut' spring to mind.

Real fans go to pubs like the HITW or the Welly

On FOL, Chesh asked why BHS and not Gazette comments or FOL, to which FOL replied

Chesh,
We don't know about the gazette and to be honest we don't know about BHS either. We assume that unlike FOL, BHS did not follow the defamation acts' procedures correctly unlike FOL, thereby opening themselves up to action from the Os.

I wish BHS well. Whether they could have handled this better or not is largely irrelevant ; the only thing they are "guilty" of is providing a platform for supporters of the club to express their views. Whilst going after them and other prominent figures might be smart tactics, it is also craven and cowardly, and the Oystons should be shamed of themselves.

Icon? It's all Rio Ferdinand's fault.

Yet again a spectacular own goal
Yes Robbie I agree it is shameful .I genuinely believe what we are witnessing is a very messy endgame , their reign is unravelling and I suspect things will get worse before they actually go.
Sadly for the supporters we are relegated , divided and the football is woeful

If they concentrated on running the club half as much as suing fans and supporters associations we might not be in such a mess.

No man is rich enough to buy back his past.

Presumably, they'll be going after Fansonline as well.

Unbelievable. How to win friends and influence people.

The comments section of the Gazette can get quite juicy, will he go after them,

This is getting nuts, no winners only a broken down train wreck of a once proud footy club.

No man is rich enough to buy back his past.

Crazy.

I wonder if at any point it's going to occur to certain people that the best way of dissuading others from saying nasty things about you is to act differently yourself.

Court proceedings will resolve absolutely nothing.

We live in a country of free speech

Free speech as long as you don't make accusations which you can't prove, which is quite reasonable.

T'internet plays host to many people who spout off before thinking and believe they are anonymous in doing so. It must be a nightmare for businesses like messageboards to keep track of all posts and make sure they stay within the laws of the land. Sadly when they can't fully manage this they become prey to unscrupulous people like the owners of our club.

Yet another sad day.
