The Tangerine Knights would today like to announce that after extensive enquiries we have found the statue of Morty. Whilst many have searched high and low for his whereabouts we can exclusively reveal that he has been placed in a shed. Not any old shed, but a shed used by Blackpool FC groundsmen to store their equipment. We believe that the use of a fork lift truck and angle grinder to remove Morty may have caused some damage to the £25,000 bronze statue of one of Blackpools legends and still the only man to score a hat trick in an FA Cup final. It has been reported that the club and ‘company’ chairman Karl Oyston took these unusual steps after receiving ‘intelligence’ that there was a chance of attack by vandals. After the events around the ground last night, which saw several windows damaged at, and above, the main reception as well as graffiti with 'OYSTON OUT - RA' sprayed opposite the club shop, it seems that Mr Oystons amazing talent of being able to see into the future and predict events have paid off. To have such foresight and vision that an attack by vandals was imminent is truly the work of someone to whom we should all say thank you. So from all the Tangerine Knights, from all Blackpool fans everywhere, we say thank you Karl for saving Morty and placing him with such care in a gardeners shed. You really are a genius of great magnitude. https://www.facebook.com/tangerineknightssupport/photos/a.1517390945209577.10737 | |
