Paul Jewell says that Swansea are up there with Norwich as the best in the division

The Ipswich Town manager told the Evening Post after Monday's 4-1 loss I have to give great credit to Swansea

"They are a good team — them and Norwich are the two best teams we have played since I've been here.

"They are two good footballing sides and there's no doubt there's a gulf between them and us.

"We got beaten 2-0 by QPR, but for long periods in that game we were the better team.

"But against Norwich, Reading and Swansea, I felt they had better footballers than us.

"They were quicker and stronger.

"We are not mentally tough enough or physically tough enough.

"The remit when we came in was to keep Ipswich in the league and I'm just glad we don't have to worry about the next two games.

"Luckily we have done enough to stay up, but the players are not good enough as a group to get us into the top six in this league and we need players to come in.

"We have done okay, but okay is not good enough for me.

"We actually started the game very well, but we conceded the goal and we can't really come back from adversity too often.

"The goals were poor defensively, and you can't give away goals like that when you're playing teams who are on a roll."
