Many fans see this Transfer Deadline Day as the most important at Bloomfield Road in years. With the squad still lacking that quality that is needed to push us away from the bottom of the table, all eyes will be on Karl Oyston and Jose Riga to see what they can achieve today. We'll keep you abreast of developments, tweets, forums posts and everything you need to know throughout the day.

8am-9am Will Watt has arrived at the Gazette ready for a 15 hour day and Carl_OystonOut on Twitter (shame he couldn't spell Karl right) predicts two players today but none of Riga's targets (quite who is choosing these players he doesn't say - the Golden Gamble lady?). Rob Underdown on Twitter predicts Angel Martinez could be heading to Millwall whilst OneDaveBamber is back with his excellent breakdown which today suggests 'To sign the four "quality players" José Riga wants before the transfer deadline, Blackpool must sign one "quality player" every 3.5 hours.'

9am-10am The Gazette report: When asked about the chances of adding to his squad, Riga said: “I really don’t know. I’m sorry but I don’t know. I’m just waiting but I’ve been waiting for a long time now. I try every time to get results, even without what we need.” Apparently there are two cash bids in for players with reports of tills, Golden Gamble buckets and petty cash tins being emptied at Bloomfield Road. Karl is counting the silver coins and Sam the bronze ones.

10am-11am Dust gathering nicely on the fax machine whilst the new company secretary is on Chapter Seven of the Footballer's Work Permits for Dummies book. Gary Taylor-Fletcher's name is mentioned and there is frenzied excitement. Could we actually get a player back who the fans love and can score goals? Who's got Neil Bishop's phone number whilst we're on a roll. Meanwhile Karl is in deep negotiations - over whether to charge the local butcher £40 or more for a few shot pheasants.

11am-12pm 11 hours to go. Tweet from Lester Munday to AVFTT 'Bring back the Fish Meal'. We are entering negotiations with BRR to bring back the popular fishy feature. There again Les could just be talking carp. Meanwhile Burnley spend £15 million - what was wrong with them getting James Beattie in? Meanwhile lepidopterists gather outside Bloomfield Road in case Karl opens his wallet.

12pm-1pm Manchester United have agreed a loan deal to bring in the Monaco striker Radamel Falcao on loan for the season. This is clearly the future. Why haven't we thought of this before. We could just bring in a raft of loan players, save wages and not be tied down by pesky contracts and agents fees. I hope Karl is taking note of this and sticking the dosh back from those cash deals in the 'Ormerod Money Vaults'.

1pm-2pm Breaking News: Car seen outside club shop. Sky Sports news telling reporters anyone who doesn't do the ice bucket challenge will have to stand outside Bloomfiekd Road until the deadline ends. A lot of wet and cold reporters in the North West at the moment!

2pm-3pm Favourite Tweet of the last hour from Blackpool fan Lee Morton who says that we are signing a Chinese player called Fu Kin No Wan. In other news the Seasiders have apparently tabled a bid for a Championship midfielder - imagine him now mulling over that one as he looks down the league table to see where his potential new club are in the league #relegationfight. Anyhow the kettle is on, it could be a long night.

3pm-4pm Barnet!! Barnet as in Barry Fry, sloping pitch, somewhere down South etc! Blimey no wonder Tweeter Mark Robins isn't happy" Blackpool have made a bid for Barnet winger Keanu Marsh-Brown” what a cheap option for the Oystons this will be if true." In other news "Bryan Verboom boom shake shake the room is a Belgian U21 left back and said he is signing on twitter and took off straight away. Meanwhile Sky Sport's Jim White is 5 hours away from imploding.

4pm-5pm No sign of either the Blackpool manager or Chairman - there's apparently more chance of seeing Lord Lucan riding down the front on Shergar with the Ormerod money above his head.Riga is believed to be is believed to be in Houndshill at the eyebrow shapers whilst Karl is apparently spending the day refreshing his Facebook page wondering when he'll get his first Friend Request.

5pm-6pm Will Watt from Bloomfield Road says the grass is growing nicely. Who says we've had no investment on the pitch. Meanwhile United fans are apparently monitoring Falcao's flight to Old Trafford on radar as he flies across Europe on a Cessnar. It's reported Blackpool supporters were following the progress of some bloke from Barnet on a Stagecoach bus from London, although it's believed to be at a service station in Milton Keynes and not due to arrive in Blackpool until after the deadline has passed.

6pm-7pm Despite Will's attempts to keep Blackpool fans up to date with what's happening at Bloomfield Road, his predecessor Steve Canavan sums it up in one tweet. "Just clicked on Blackpool FC's website to see who they've signed. Didn't take long." Blackpool confirm they aren't in for Wellbeck or Cleverley - a Gale Force 9 wind blows down the prom from the sighs of relief.

7pm-8pm As tumbleweed blows down Bloomfield Road and the ground resembles the Marie Celeste, Papa John's pizza man turns up with two pizzas. The new Club Secretary asks the delivery boy can he have the second half price for Blackpool scoring two goals in a game - unfortunately they don't back date offers to April. Three hours to go until the window slams shut - let's hope Karl forgets to take his fingers away!

8pm-11pm Went to the pub - don't think we missed much! See you in January!
