Ironic that there wasn't even a breeze blowing down Blackpool prom today because the size of relief around Bloomfield Road as the full time whistle went today was palpable. Whilst Blackpool's performances this season haven't really warranted 3 points, they've certainly deserved a draw on some occasions, and finally today the duck was broken and the relief was there for all to see.

Was always going to be interesting to see what Jose Riga would do today and also the performance and reaction of his players. After a week where they almost lost their Belgian manager, you could tell today that was a real passion, desire and never die attitude in their performance, Fitness levels are still not where the manager would want them, some of the passing was certainly not up to the standard he'd expect and often going forward the side seemed to lack the penetration that other sides have shown this season. However, with the last 5 games being lost by a one goal margin, the important thing was not to concede and a resilient back four achieved that. There'll be a few bumps and bruises tonight especially from Daniels and Clarke who were magnificent in defence and Joe Lewis has finally got his coveted clean sheet which his performances have thoroughly deserved.

With the Oriol brothers playing down the left, Orlandi in the side alongside Perkins and Lundtsram and with Ranger and Fonz up front, there was a nice balance to the side today, not that they always kept the shape which would have helped them break quicker than they did. Delfouenso had a couple of early chances but Blackpool were lucky to go in goalless as Van La Parra's cross-cum-shot came back off the far post and a Danny Batth effort saw his well drilled effort go just wide. Riga's side enjoyed a decent second half though with chances falling to McMahon who put in to the side netting and Ranger who did everything but put the ball in the back of the net as he saw his effort hit the crossbar. Wolves certainly didn't look promotion hopefuls but speaking to many of their fans, nor did they consider Blackpool relegation favourites.

A special mention to Peter Clarke who was magnificent, Lundstram improved as the game went on but needs to find consistency. Orlandi when he's involved looks useful and the strikers just need to start scoring the goals which will undoubtedly give them the confidence they need. It's fine to have a good game but the key is following it up with fitness and performance levels and we look to Tuesday night to see if we can achieve that.
