After a day of speculation, conjecture and rumour, the inevitable curtain was drawn on Jose Riga's 4 month stay at Bloomfield Road. In a statement on the official site, the club announced "Blackpool Football Club can confirm that Head Coach José Riga has had his contract terminated with immediate effect". "We couldn't leave the decision any longer to give someone else the opportunity to help us work our way out of the position we are currently in," Chairman Karl Oyston said. The club also announced that fiirst-team coach Noel Blake will take charge of training tomorrow.
