Leeds United v Blackpool Preview
Thursday, 6th Nov 2014 23:09 by Editor

If there was a race for the 'the most embarrassing club in the Championship' then Blackpool wouldn't necessarily walk away with the title. Bolton Wanderers are millions of pounds in debts and haemorraghing supporters, Birmingham City have a banged up owner and then of course we have Leeds United. Shambles wouldn't cover what's gone on at Elland Road in the last 12 months as they've gone through nearly as many managers as they've had wins.

After picking up no points since the Cardiff win, it seemed a major achievement just to get off the 6 point mark on Wednesday. On another night the Seasiders would have picked up their first 3 points of the season but the fact they competed as well as they did in the first half does give some cause for optimism that we'll get to double figures before too long. With just 7 games to go until the halfway point of the season, the Seasiders could probably do with at least 4 wins to give themselves a fighting chance going in to the second half of the campaign. For a side that has only won one game all season that's a tall order but only Bournemouth are in the top 10 sides which means it should be all to play for.

Lee Clark has certainly made his mark at Bloomfield Road since arriving and it remains to be seen how many of his three signings start on Saturday. Certainly Jacob Murphy must stand a good chance after his performance on Wednesday whilst Jamie O'Hara and Jonathan Legear will be hoping to get their chance. It looks like it could be a game too soon for Cubero who hopefully will be fighting fit after the international break whilst Tony McMahon gets practically a month off for his misdemeanours at Craven Cottage.

Leeds haven't won in 8 games but they've not been losing games by much and have drawn half of those games. The uncertainty of who is in charge has clearly had an effect on the team which will hopefully still be in some disarray on Saturday. Neil Redfearn is the man in charge at Elland Road and he has a few problems ahead of this one. Giuseppe Bellusci is serving a one-match suspension, fellow defender Jason Pearce returns to the squad after he served his one-match suspension against Charlton. Billy Sharp and Rodolph Austin will be back in the squad after being out recently through injury. whilst Steve Morison missed the clash with Charlton with a virus and he will be assessed ahead of the game. Aidy White and Lewis Walters remain out through injury.

If Lee Clark can pick up his first win it would give the Seasiders a huge psychological boost going in to the international break and restore some of that confidence which has been in short supply of late.
