Murphy's Law - Jacob heads back to Norwich
Wednesday, 31st Dec 2014 16:31 by Editor

The true meaning of Murphy's Law is 'Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong' (quite apt for this season). Well now we've discovered the meaning of the phrase 'Jacob Murphy's Law. Blackpool FC have announced that Murphy has returned to Norwich after the infamous Snapchat incident with Lee Carke saying '“Jacob is a talented player with a bright future ahead of him and his recent actions should not detract from that. However, he realises that he made an error of judgement and understands why we have come to this decision. The players and the team need to be fully focused on our fight to stay in The Championship."

As one fan put it, "We've lost a good player because of a stupid lapse in judgement." However, so far no one has been able to say (or would say) 'We've lost a good Chairman because of a stupid lapse in judgement." Making a joke of Blackpool's current plight was obviously ill advised but would have been made with tongue in cheek as it was evident on Sunday that the loanee put a shift in despite not really making a massive impact in the game. To almost ridicule the side should have lead to disciplinary measures and maybe a fine but it does seem with few options up front to be a case of cutting your nose off to spite your face.

However, the Chairman's well reported phone gaffe, which should see him removed from his position, seems to have been brushed under the carpet, Money has bought his way out of it with a donation to charities but the fact remains he's still there. On a day when it was announced that in 2014, out of the whole of the Football League, Blackpool lost more games (29), scored fewest goals (31) had almost as many managers (4) and more red cards (6) than wins (5), somehow Karl keeps his job. Just a shame didn't apply to anyone who uses their phone inappropriately as then it could have been a Happy New Year.
