Watford 7 Blackpool 2

Embarrassing, humiliating, inevitable and a sad reflection of where we are as a football club. Sometimes Blackpool have been getting away with results that have probably flattered us somewhat. Last week's shots on target by Wolves should have served as a warning about what might happen if a team had some players who could hit the back of the net and on Saturday we found that team in Watford. An awful afternoon for Lee Clark who could only find solace in the fact that three of the next four games are at home. Clearly he's forgotten the state of the Bloomfield Road pitch and the baying crowd!

Some have said that even if we had a two goal advantage going in to games that we'd struggle to carve out a win. Indeed at half time after 'Pool went in 2-0 up many referred back to the Fulham game and other capitulations. This started well with Andrea Orlandi firing Blackpool's opener into the roof of the net, before Steven Davies added a second from point-blank range.

However it was Ighalo who sparked an astonishing second-half fightback with a tap-in finish just after the break and then fired Watford ahead from a tight angle after Deeney levelled with a header from Daniel Tozser's corner. Vydra beat Parish with a fine strike, while Gomes tipped a Jamie O'Hara free-kick over the bar at the other end before Angella reacted quickest to slot home a fifth after Deeney hit the post with a header.
Ighalo completed his hat-trick with a simple finish, latching on to a loose ball after Deeney again hit the woodwork, and the Nigerian was assisted once more by his strike partner for his fourth of the afternoon.

Where do the Seasiders go from here. Other than the inevitable answer 'League One' there really does seem no answers.
