Birmingham v Blackpool Preview

This season there have been some players who have been so tragic, if things weren't so dire, we could have a laugh about. Many have described Saer Sene's debut at Bloomfield Road as a bit like 'Bambi on Ice' and the worst performance at the seaside since the Krankies were doing a summer season on the front. Somewhat unsurprisingly, since we have very little to play for at St Andrews, it looks as though our French striker might get a start at Birmingham! If Torville and Dean are in the Midlands they may well enjoy his performance more than the Seasiders fans do.

It's a return to St Andrews for the Blackpool boss as he goes in search of his first away win of the season with a makeshift squad. Rotherham's defeat on Tuesday night means that Clark can reduce the gap to 12 points but even that with 13 games to go would be an impossible gap to fill. Jamie O'Hara limped off on Saturday and may well miss out along with Henry Cameron who is out for the next 4-6 weeks. Both a victim of the Bloomfield Road playing surface.

The manager Blackpool should have had Gary Rowett will be without midfielder Stephen Gleeson as he begins a three-match ban for his red card in the 1-0 win over Brentford. Rowett could hand a debut to Robert Tesche, who joined the Blues on loan from Nottingham Forest this week.

All we can hope for now is a few creditable performances and wins because there isn't much else to look forward to this campaign!
