Saints Lead Race For Redmond
Friday, 10th Jun 2016 12:43

Despite the managerial uncertainty at St Mary's at the moment, the Norwich local paper is claiming that Saints lead the chase for winger Nathan Redmond.

Although no one is sure who will be manager at St Mary's nxt season (or are they) Saints are still linked with Norwich City's Nathan Redmond.

You would think that the club would be putting transfer dealings on hold at the moment whilst they search for a replacement for Ronald Koeman when or indeed if he finally goes to Everton, however that is not stopping them being linked with every player up for grabs in the transfer market.

Redmond is in the last year of his contract in a few weeks and with the offer on the table not having been signed the Canaries are accepting that they are going to have to try and get the most cash for him they can and that being the case will be keen to open a bidding war ths summer.

Paper talk again. I would have thought that the new managers would have a say in any potential new signings

I think your last paragraph sums that all up- Norwich are touting him around to see if anyone bites and then they can get the auction started.

This looks like a stats / "black box" signing should it happen.

I wouldn't mind him as long as it wasn't as a replacement for Mane.

Would be a great signing if he's hungry enough to fight for a first team place.

If it's a race to sign him, presumably the one who comes last gets the deal?

Redmond is even more one dimensional than Townshend. These are not the sort of journeymen that should have any place inside at St Mary's.

This would be a sure sign of us accepting mediocrity.
