Refwatch returns with a look at the official who will be in charge of this Bank Holiday Monday game against cash strapped Rotherham.

Kevin Wright, from Peterborough, was due to be the referee at Spotland on Easter Monday, but he was replaced on Wednesday by Andy Woolmer.

It is only a few weeks since we last saw Mr Woolmer as he was in the middle for our 2-1 defeat at Lincoln.

In fact, what a bad Easter combination we have landed, as both referees this weekend oversaw our first two away losses of the campaign.

Before the Lincoln match last month, Andy had taken charge of four previous Dale games, with us winning 1-0 at Grimsby in September 2004 and 5-0 at Darlington in October 2006 when we’ve seen him in the middle at away fixtures.

His two visits to Spotland brought a 1-1 draw with Wycombe in March 2005 and a 1-0 loss to Oxford six months later.

Andy is in his fourth season on the league list and he tends to be one of those referees who rarely grabs the headlines or games of any real significance.

This term he has overseen 33 matches, showing 84 yellow cards, but just two red, one of which was later overturned by the FA.
