Former Dale boss John Coleman has left his job at Southport FC.

Coleman joined the Sandgrounders in December and successfully kept them in the Conference. However, his departure from Southport came with something of a twist in the tale with the official Southport website putting out the oddest press release you've ever seen for a departing manager.

It cited John Coleman's desire to manage in the Football League as one of the reasons behind his departure, but it calls into question his touchline behaviour and basically says that their away form has been rubbish.
