The most predicted result this week was for Southend to win 2-1, so just the one point for those who went for that. A better week all round for most, thanks to the nineteen 3 pointers achieved overall. Though there were still four games without one, including two more 2-3's. This means after going 27 weeks without a 2-3 result, there has now been five in the last four weeks. The honour for being the weeks top scorer was the most hotly contested of the season so far. It ended with a four-way tie, with an excellent 10 points being accrued by wessex_exile, Sector4, RSCOSWORTH, and BluenWightExile. All four achieved their points by having two spot-on, and four further outcomes. Just missing out on joining them were mrhappy and OhOriOri, who for different reasons, both got a very valuable 9 points. For mrhappy it enabled him to extend his lead at the top of the Premier, just when he was starting to look vulnerable. As for OhOriOri his one spot-on was for his Leyton Orient to win 3-0, and just like them, he improved his chances of avoiding the drop. In his case getting out of the drop zone, after spending just the one week in there. Following him out from the dreaded drop, after spending the last ten weeks in there, is wessex-exile, after getting a seasons best score this week.
In Division One there are new leaders, as the barren spell TheNet has been on, finally catches up with him. He is replaced by Sector4, who after another good week, goes top for the first time this season. But only 3 points separate the top three. With RSCOSWORTH continuing to go through the gears, and BluenWightExile finding the knack for picking 3 pointers again, the competition for promotion from this league is hotting up as much as the relegation scrap from the league above.
Just seven weeks left to the season now. That is 54 games, with three 10 game weeks to come on weeks 34, 37 and 38.
