Now I'm as rainbow nation as the next man, but "Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha" is a fricking awesome name by any measure!
Of Sri Lankan origin I assume but still only 9 syllables.
I read somewhere a few years back that cyclist Djamolidine Abdoujaporov, with 9, had the most syllables in his or her name of any professional sports person. Being a cricket fan I thought there must be a Sri Lankan cricketer to top that but I've yet to find one. Does anyone know a sports man or woman with more than 9 syllables in their name?
I was intrigued, so googled it, and think I have a winner for you Whale - take a bow Ilikena Lasarusa Talebulamainavaleniveivakabulaimainakulalakebalau (which means "returned alive from Nankula hospital at Lakemba island in the Lau group"), or IL Bula to his mates.

I make that 30!! Good work Wessex. Just two questions;
In what sport does he participate?
Have the fans come up with a full name chant?
He was a very accomplished cricketer for Fiji in the early post-war years, when Fiji weren't an official Test side. Amazingly (according to wikipedia, link below) he's still alive (aged 92), so whilst I doubt fans back then were doing full name chants, when it comes to it the gravestone mason is going to have to play a blinder!

Imagine being at school in Sri Lanka, it must be lunchtime before they've finished calling the register!
That would have suited me for all I paid attention at school!

Djamolidine Abdoujaporv - a legendary sprinter in the Tour de France
Famous for a spectacular crash on Champs Elysees.
I hope link works but if it doesn't it is well worth taking a look at YouTube.
I noticed in the commentary they mention 'the man with 9 syllables'
