Chaps

As previously mentioned in the Nepal thread, a foolhardy team of four walkers from our company are going for the Oxfam Trailwalker 2015 challenge this year - 100km non-stop day and night in just 30 hours, and if that wasn't enough, over the very hilly South Downs as well.

The event is organised by the Queen's Brigade of Gurkhas, and raises funds for the incredibly important help and support that Oxfam provides, not least following the dreadful events that occurred in the Gurkha's very own Nepal recently. It is both fitting and poignant that this year also marks the 200th anniversary of the Gurkhas becoming part of the British Army.

Slightly less foolhardy, I have volunteered as part of the Support team (also of four) for the challenge. We are close to our original target, but ideally want to smash right through that, so any financial support you can provide, however modest, would be enormously appreciated.

I thank you all in anticipation.

Good Man, Wessex. Will obviously donate. But Mrs PWK has all our co-ordinates for charity donations and tax relief, and she is away for a few days, so it'll be middle of next week before our contribution hits your fund.

Chapeau to those doing something to raise funds to help alleviate the situation in Nepal. As I think I've said elsewhere I was truly humbled by my brief chat with h a member of the Gurkha regiment at Lords in May. Not much moves an old cynis like me but he did.

I offer no apology for the blatant bump, but with regard to the Gurkhas, I understand their team RUNS the route! That's got to hurt!

Just donated another 20 as anonymous, Wes

Look it up. About two minutes ago

You go, pal. That's "justgiving.com" peeps. Give what you can and give up one or two lattes in a week and one night of take-away one day.

Great cause. Anything will help

Brilliant - I did see that Pete, and figured it had to be you, as the only donation in dollars :-)

Many thanks Sir, we're not too far from the target now!

Added an additional $20 to the total today as I'm not sure what happened with my 20 when you first jump-started the thread. Not as valuable as the £ but probably more stable than the euro at this juncture

I see that £1366.49 of the target £1500 has been raised.

One guess. who due to exchange rates, helped create this unusual number of 1366 and 49 pence with 40 bucks (lol) ... nowhere near a genius but I reckon 40 dollars is £26.49.

By the way Wes, this is the first time I personally have seen a "username" spot --so did the donation as Barsidepete -- and a box for a message. (just a couple of words, as everyone here knows, I'm a man of few words:p )

Best wishes and keep us updated. "Anonymous"

Ok, added 20 more, but this time real quid.

Wessex and gang are up to £1406.49 of £1500 goal.

That's already really really good

And cheers, Burnsie! PWK, Lead, Daniel ... Everyone else, anonymous

We will need photos, Wes. Even if you merely change your profile piccie for a few days.
