Well can things get any better for the Super U's and TH after a fourth straight win for the first time since Aidy Boothroyd was in charge. Seeing off Parky's Bantams on Tuesday night has rekindled the flames of who really was the U's best manager. Until we achieve Championship status again, my money remains on Phil Parkinson. That however was 10 years ago and a lot of managers have flowed under the River Colne bridge since then

Today will be another real test with David Flitcroft's Shakers in town. They won all 6 games in September and are unbeaten away from home in their last 16 games. In Leon Clarke they also have an inform striker and a winger in Danny Mayor who won the POTY in League Two last season.

The cynics would therefore argue that it has 0-0 all over it. But the WHCS is finally becoming something of a fortress and with Harriott, Sordell and Massey Colchester have one of the best attacking line ups in League One. I therefore believe that TH will want to cement the U's top six position with a fifth straight win.

The injury front doesn't get any better with the youngster Kane Vincent-Young out for 8 weeks. Wynter, Wright and Brindley remained side-lined and the unlucky Walker likewise.

The U's have a new hero in Jones the Keeper and with Moncur setting the stadium alight and the pace of Harriott and Sordell expect another U's win in front of perhaps a 5,000 crowd. The pass from Garvan to Sordell was Messi class on Tuesday, so expect some tight marking on the U's midfielder.

Team:

Jones

Olufemi Eastman Kent Briggs

Garvan Moncur Edwards

Harriott Sordell Massey

Subs:

Parish Ambrose Elokobi Sembie-Ferris Bonne Porter Gilbey

A bumper crowd, continued good weather (even here in Co Durham) and a handsome home win, what's not to like!

Enjoy the game.

Top six here we come!

Up the U's

Sadly no bumper crowd for what was a hard fought and even contest. Us created more chances but the Bury 'keeper was their best player. The only goal was gifted to them following a howler from Sordell which allowed a good cross into the box which wasn't dealt with.

Bury were strong, organised and disciplined. I'd say best side we've played at home this season.

One criticism of Humes... Porter should have been brought on much earlier. We really needed a player who could operate with his back to goal.

You can't win a game scoring no goals.

0 points or 1 point? This one become irrelevant pretty quick.

At Shrews next. Focus, and Up the U's.

Poll: In Daniel's PL, Sector4 is top, I'm 2nd or 3rd depending on the update

Three excellent saves by the Bury keeper, one n the first and two in the second kept the visitors in the game, and with fifteen minutes to go Leon Clarke ( as usual ) scores with a header across the goal after the U 's lose possession ( not the time or place for such a touch ) needlessly in there own half .
Porter came on to late from the bench, has more composure was required on the ball up front . Despite the final result some excellent football played especially in the first half, just naive at times in the second when some players where trying to do too much, rather than letting the ball do the walking and talking .
These days defeat is hard to swallow, at least that tells how far the team has progressed lately.

Poll: No half measure either 1 or 2 ?

Shame everything that dropped in Sordell's path was on his left foot. If on his right he might have had a hat trick. Bury fans agreed we probably should have had two penalties. Unfortunate day at the office, but a fine performance against an in-form side. Don't have a problem when we lose like that, its just the nature of football.
