It's Eurovision, I'm afraid. My eldest daughter, now in her 40s, is a Eurovision fanatic and has been ever since she was a young girl. So every year there is a family gathering, a sweepstake, and a pen and paper to record our own scores. I join in to keep everyone happy, and I am allowed to make witty comments (well, I think they're witty).

They were bottom when they played us on 12th December, but they were 3-0 up before we got it back to 3-2. I think you are thinking of the Crewe game. Another game we lost 3-2 to a team at the bottom. We were 2-0 up in that game. | |

Enjoying baseball, Washington Nationals v Miami Marlins... I wouldn't be caught dead watching MLS (Major League Soccer) although their season is in full swing.
Golf is pretty cool, The Players Championship. Doing some cooking, homemade burgers where I sautee onion in butter and add some garlic late. Salt, pepper. Add cheddar slices. Toasted bread and mayonnaise top and bottom. A bit of ketchup on top. Panfry the patties in butter.
A bit of reading, BBC, Gazette, Daily Mail, Washington Post, New York Times. Basic happy stuff on a Saturday.
edit: I dice up one jalapeno too, and this combination, onions, garlic and jalapeno sauteed is added to the ground beef. Let that sit in the fridge for an hour and voila. [Post edited 14 May 2016 21:46]

When he lived in John o Groats we used to drive the 430 miles in about 9.5 hours. Two stops at Stirling and Inverness.

My mum lives on the west coast of the Isle of Skye which makes it an inconvenient 645 miles door to door from Lawford. Never done it in one day though.
Longest drive in one day was Missinipe, Saskatchewan to Jasper, Alberta. 772 miles in 16 hours after a 04.00 start...I still felt better after that than any trip involving the A12 these days. | |
