A warm welcome to all members old and new, as the Happy League is about to start its 14th season. Mr happy has retired as President of the league, but I think it is only right the league retains its name, to honour the great man.
There is no need to register for the coming season, as any member who took part last season, will automatically be registered for this season. Just post your predictions to confirm your registration. Anybody wanting to drop out, could you please let me know, either on this thread, or by sending me a PM. For any new members thinking about joining, it is a free to enter competition with prizes. You can join by posting your predictions on this thread.
A reminder of a rule, mainly for any newcomers. That is anybody failing to post their predictions four weeks in a row, will be dismissed from all Happy League competitions. Two newcomers fell foul to this rule last season, but there is no need for this to happen. If you are not going to be around to post your predictions any week, just let me know in advance what default score you would like, e.g. all 1-0's, 2-1's etc. Anybody failing to post anything at all will receive no points for that week.
The season will start on August 13th, and will run for 38 weeks, with Charity Shield and Division One play-offs to follow. Fixtures will be the usual Pick 6, with a guest Pick 10 every three weeks (the first one to be on Week 4). There will also be a Pick 10 on week 38, to finish the season, picked by myself.
As things stand we have twelve in each league. as long as there are twelve in the Premier, there will be three relegated, with three promoted from Division One (two automatically, and one from the play-offs). If anybody drops out from the Premier, there will only be two relegated. I will give a further update on this issue, once I know who is taking part. Any newcomers will start in Division One. The two leagues as they stand at the moment are as follows:-
