I am not on here often and it may have been mentioned before, but, is this our first competitive game against Spurs? and if so, which other league teams have we yet to meet?

Southend v Wycombe
at 16:44 23 May 2015

Has to be Southend, our old rivals, the thought of Wycombe winning fills me with dread. I cannot forgive or forget. Come on Southend, and hopefully welcome to the Cuckoo. If Wycombe win I will never come on here again. Carruthers has spoken

What a fuss about two players laughing and joking about a fantastic goal.
Many years ago I remember Jimmy Greaves scoring a great goal against West Ham, after celebrating he passed Bobby Moore who put out his hand for a quick handshake, a sporting gesture admired by fans and press alike. I wish the tv company who had the game on could find it and show it again

Sunday League Football

Just watched grandson No1 age 9 play in goal and concede 14 goals, last week it was 11, After the 10th goal his eyes welled up with tears, at the end he was trying not to cry but did. I went on at the end to give him a hug and say well done and stuff but the tears flowed and he was inconsolable, what do you say?
Grandson No 2 also 9 plays for another team and scores goals for fun. [which does not help]

New colours

Doing the lunchtime thingy, if the U's were obliged to change their colours, what would they be.
I think all white with red socks, or stockings as they were referred to in the programmes of yesteryear. i have a programme where shorts were described as knickers . Just a thought. It has been said that stripes win nothing

For me it would be moving my model railway into a purposely built shed in the garden and be totally on my own.
I know, I should get out more.

I am going to enjoy it, so there .Especially the fly past, they always pass over my place.
Saw Maldon lose to Heybridge 4-2 on Easter Monday good game, more like watching cricket, sunshine, pints of beer, and bacon rolls with chips second to none.
I think that Braintree are virtually promoted so good on them. Chelmsford City trying for a play-off place hanging in there.
The U's not facing relegation, all is well in Carruthers world.

Ultimate Football Quiz Question
at 19:03 1 Sep 2010

A friend of mine [Orient supporter] is always looking for the above quiz question.
Name the 5 Moscow clubs, name all the sides with an X in the name, name the only club mentioned in the Bible, etc etc.
Ok so what is the ultimate football quiz question?

Gotta get up

A recent pub discussion revolved around music and what song/record/cd would get you on the dance floor and doing your thing, something that despite however you felt got you going. The opening six or eight seconds is crucial as to whether you dance or not-------------------Edwin Starr 'Contact' did it for me.
Any others?
