Dorus de Vries is on his way to Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to the Express and Star

The Dutchman, who was out of contract at the Liberty Stadium, looks set to pen a three year deal at Molineux after failing to agree terms on a fresh contract at Swansea.

It will come as a blow for Brendan Rodgers, who had hoped to keep the 30 year old in south west Wales for the forthcoming Premier League campaign.

News first broke of a collapse in talks between club and player last week, when it was revealed by Wales Online that De Vries was unhappy with the financial terms of the contract - namely a relegation wage clause.

His agent Arnold Oosterveer said at the end of last week: "There are a lot of teams interested in Dorus and Wolves are one of them."

"Dorus is on holiday at the moment. He's back next weekend.

"We've had Swansea's final offer so Dorus will make a final decision when he gets back."

De Vries signed for the club four years ago from Dunfermline, proving to be one of Roberto Martinez's finest signings. He broke the record for most clean sheets in a season in 2009/10 before helping the Swans gain promotion to the promised land in what looks like will be his final appearance for the club.

Rodgers is thought to be closing in on a replacement already with Polish stopper Grzegorz Sandomierski the subject of a reported £3m bid earlier this week. The 21 year old has been in outstanding form for his club Jagiellona in the Ekstraklasa, making his debut for Poland in 2010 against Bosnia-Herzegovina.
