West Ham Youngster Linked

Joe Dunne is rumoured to be considering a move to sign West Ham midfielder George Moncur on loan.

The 20-year-old, who is the son of former West Ham player John Moncur, is a central midfielder and has made just two senior appearances for the Hammers - a sub appearance in the League Cup and a start in the FA Cup. He has had spells on loan at AFC Wimbledon and Partick Thistle, where he made 20 starts and two sub appearances respectfully, and had also represented England at under 18 level.

Three players have joined the U's on loan from Upton Park in recent years - Daniel Potts, Elliot Lee, Blair Turgott - so it would be no surprise if another was to sign on loan. What would be surprising is another central midfielder, when the squad is sufficiently covered in this position.

Elsewhere, target and former loanee Alex Wynter has been linked with a loan move to Portsmouth.
