Joe Dunne has confirmed that West Ham midfielder George Moncur is training with the U's, with a view of signing on loan.

The U'sual reported Dunne's interest in the player last weekend, and now the U's boss has clarified the situation, telling the club's website that: "He has been with us all this first week and will continue to train here while we look into the possibilities of a loan move."

Fans may get the opportunity to see the 20-year-old in a Colchester United shirt as early as tomorrow, with the first team opening their pre-season campaign with a friendly fixture at Brantham Athletic (kick-off 3pm).
