Colchester United's £100k offer for Hibernian centre back Rob Jones has been rejected by the SPL side.

Hibernian have reacted angrily to the way the U's have conducted proceedings after the U's official site confirmed that a six figure bid had been made.

However, a statement released on www.hibs.co.uk confirms that the £100,000 offer was immediately rejected, and the fact the story released by the U's omitted this has riled the Edinburgh club.

The statement confirms that Hibernian intend to report the U's to the Football League and the Football Association.
