Tickle Tackle - Next
Wed 12th Nov 2008 20:10 by Steve Tickle

Not a great performance against arch-rivals L**ds but the result we were looking for, nonetheless.

Last night we got the result that everyone wanted without playing well. today, there are lost of dissenting voices bemoaning how poorly we played. Well frankly I don't give a hoot how badly we played. We got the result we wanted.

Maybe the current stupid sequence of two games every week was a factor, maybe it was because the team was weakened through suspension and injuries. For long periods, L**ds just passed the ball around us but ultimately, football matches are decided by how many goals each team scores, not by how many passes they put together. We scored two, L**ds scored just the one.

It's not often that the Rams have been favourites to beat their long time rivals but last night was one such occasion. We were at home, our opponents are a division below us - the ingredients were there for an upset. It didn't happen though.

But today, people are complaining we didn't play well. Well maybe we didn't but frankly I don't care. If there's one team in the Football League that I always want us to beat it has to be L**ds.

For those who are ccomplaining we didn't play champagne football I have just this to say. It was a cup match. It was L**ds. We won. Next...
