This is great news, and somewhat unexpected given the doom-laden suggestions that a £750k contract clause had been invoked by Burnley and that Craig had gone.

Only now might even Rabb concede that Mac, Sam & Co don't need fans to tell them to "get their finger out", or to "push on"!

Scuppering QPR, Burnley and all these other part-time Prem teams by signing up Craig for five more years is good for all parties - he's shown loyalty, the team still has the human dynamo at its heart, and one of the club's main assets has been protected from two-bit offers by smaller/bankrupt clubs.

It will take a big offer now to take Bryson away, and the other Championship clubs might plan to blunt his midfield power...but then they'll just have Hendrick, Hughes (& possibly Thorne) to cope with from our prime permutations!
