Is Nigel Looking To Leeds Left For Rams Loan?
Is Nigel Looking To Leeds Left For Rams Loan?
Wednesday, 5th Oct 2011 13:59 by Daniel J Sewart

The fantasy factory ‘mirrorfootball.co.uk’ has reported today that the Rams are set to make a loan move for Leeds United versatile youngster Aidan White.

If you believe the story (which may be your first mistake) such a loan would become permanent during the next transfer window. But with two left backs already in the squad (even if they are not really that good and frequently injured), why would the Rams look to loan White before fixing the other key positions regularly highlighted?

An English-born Irish footballer – 19 year old Aidan 'Aidy' Peter White made his debut for the Damned at the tender age of 16 and is considered to have great potential to match his blistering speed.

His first Championship appearance was as a substitute against the Rams last season and he has also been capped for the Republic of Ireland U21's, even though he originally represented England at under-19's level.

Former Ram Paul Dickov helped with White’s development while on loan at Oldham athletic last season. During his 24 appearances, he impressed for the League One outfit and also contributed 4 valuable goals.

Since returning to Leeds this season White has worked hard to become a first team regular at left-back - although manager Simon Grayson has stated in the media he sees him developing into an attacking left winger in time.

You would think that Leeds would be unlikely to want to lose the services of the up-and-coming youngster, especially if only on loan, but if a permanent transfer was part of the arrangement in January the scenario may be more believable. Even if for no other reason than the player would finally find a way out of Leeds.

The main stumbling block with such a report from our fairytale favourites at ‘the mirror’ is that Tom Glick stated recently - it is unlikely the Rams would be making any loan moves at this stage.

Plans for a new plaza seem to have taken a front seat as opposed to signing a new centre forward, commanding midfielder, contract for Nigel, who has the club in the top three - or even the promised director of football.

Oh well, at least we will be able to sip a skinny latte and do some shopping while we lament another season of promise falling away due to a lack of support for the manager.

Phew…. for a moment there I thought the football club might have been the owner’s main focus.

Would Aidan White be a good signing or are other positions more important to fill first!?

Hes been Leeds MoM several times this season and Leeds have reportedly already turned down a £1.75m bid from a N/East PL Club. No way he will go to Derby.

Deal has been denied by DCFC; no reason why White would not come (on loan only, maybe) to Derby, one of the biggest clubs outside the Prem.

Check the crowds and League position...!

Nice to see DirtyLeeds possibly having to cash in on star prospects, though :-)
