On the pitch the year ended in the best possible way after making it 9 games unbeaten and sliding into 2nd place. We have dared to dream before and been let down but it feels different this time...

Since McClaren, Simpson & Steel took charge of the team it has been such a swift rise that no one, not even them, saw it coming. The team has just clicked and gone about chewing up all in front of them.

The positivity around Derby and amongst Rams fans is refreshing, as for the first time in a very long time, it doesn't feel like we are all waiting for it to crash and burn. This time around it seems as if however this season pans out, we are on track for the future and it is no longer a case of 'if' but 'when'.

With Wigan today at the iPro followed by a dream Cup fixture against high flying Chelski, the start to the New Year is a real cracker!

Here's hoping the boys can get their first win of 2014 and solidify The Rams position in the top 2!

Savour every moment of success and don't let the inevitable bad days get you down - because no matter what - we are all Rams through thick and thin! We have waited and this year could be our turn for some thick!
