What I.Saw: I Don't Mind Losing... Well Actually Of Course I Do!
Monday, 27th Oct 2014 12:00 by I.Saw

I don't mind losing - we deserved to lose.

I don't mind losing - Wigan were the better team they worked hard, they compressed as a team, they came with a game plan.

I don't mind losing to a better team - and despite their position, on the day the Latics were the better team.

I don't mind losing.

Well actually of course I do.

We all do.

We all hate a crap referee. Robert Madley fits that description perfectly. He's the man who sent off Chris Martin for a dive at Burnley on the one occasion our striker didn't.

He sent off Dexter Blackstock for Forest when we played our rivals. Quite frankly his arse and his elbow are interchangeable and indistinct. Never mind knowing the difference - he wouldn't know he had either.

That's not why we lost, but a valid comment when you’re paying your money you deserve a (semi)professional official.

Anyway, we lost, we deserved to lose, three games on the trot we have been poor (Reading, Blackpool and Wigan), it's the first time though we have been caught out.

Jack Butland saved a penalty. Credit there then. Debit his continual kicking the ball into touch. Debit his lack of control of his area. Debit the two goals. Our goalkeeping coach has his work cut out.

Zak Whitbread, good defensively but with a distribution akin to a scattergun approach - trying to hit a bull's-eye target. How can you build from the back when you're firing blind? A moot point really as Butland just kicked everything long into touch.

Craig Bryson, Will Hughes, off days suffering creative block.

John Eustace, concedes a penalty by the deem of a ball hitting his arm in the area, the aforesaid ball by reason of the deemed contact actually assisting the Wigan striker to attempt his shot. Yet the referee points to the spot in a manner that is only seen by those who normally have money to ensure the best council.

It's all about the referee getting his name in the paper. Any press is good press.

Mr Madley - you are the worst referee I've currently seen and you continue to be with every appalling decision you make.

Sack him and do it now!

You weren't the reason we lost, Butland saved the penalty.

Did that hurt you Mr Madley ?

Anyrode, we scored straight after Eustace sliding the ball home from a corner in injury time of the first half. It was more that we deserved. Second half and we took off Hughes and the ineffectual Jordan Ibe. Jeff Hendrick and Simon Dawkins added energy.

We conceded. Their player James McClean turned the ball home. We brought on Leon Best for Eustace.

They scored again, (that man McClean) to seal a 2-1 victory to the pie eaters.

We have been poor in the last three games, on Saturday we got what we deserved. Nothing!

Nothing is also the contribution of Best, please can we have Mason Bennett from now on Mr McClaren please and whilst you're at it - the continually long ball kicking into touch of every bodies reject Butland - makes me rather wish to see the efforts of Kelle Roos on Tuesday.

Can you arrange that please sir? I'd be ever so grateful and I suspect I'm not alone.

Oh and see how I resisted the temptation to make fun of Johnny Russell taking out Uwe Rosler in front of the dugout - when our striker was fouled and pushed to the floor.

(You have better restraint than me Mr.Saw, I can’t resist posting the video — Ed.)
