For The 2nd Time In 2014 - Chelsea Are Coming To Derby!

The draw was held for the Quarter Finals of the League Cup on Wednesday night and the Rams were handed a glamour draw with Chelsea set to visit Derbyshire for the second time in a year.

The Rams were valiant when they last met Chelsea in January this year for the 4th round of last seasons FA Cup. A good first half was followed by a second half that Chelsea dominated, to eventually run out 0-2 winners (see video below).

Derby have been handed a chance to avenge that defeat later this year - with all Quarter Finals to be scheduled in the week commencing on the 15th of December.

Will it be a battle between the two top teams from their respective Leagues? Sam Rush will be hoping that is the case - as if both teams are still leading the pack - the promotion for the match will take care of itself!

The home team will be the underdogs for the tie but as Shrewsbury showed with a fabulous fighting display against Chelsea in the 4th Round, the Premier League leaders are not invincible.

For now the Rams have bigger fish to fry - with top spot in the Championship to defend being the main priority — but there is no doubt this fixture will be circled on every fans calendar.

There is nothing wrong with letting dreams of another trip to Wembley swirl around in our heads and even perhaps lifting some silverware! But to win any competition you usually have to beat the best (depending on your draw!) - and in this case for Derby - that statement has never been truer!
