G.M's Match Preview: Rams Will Be Too Classy For Out Of Form Millers
Saturday, 31st Oct 2015 08:04 by George Martin

Derby will be hoping to keep their fine run of performances and results going as they entertain an out of form Rotherham who recently sacked Manager Evans after a poor start to the season.

He performed heroics last year on a very limited budget, but managed to keep The Millers in the championship. A difference of direction was given as the reason for him leaving so Neil Redfern is now in the hot seat.

Derby will be without Tom Ince who has an ankle injury so Weimann would seem to be the natural swap, but he may play on the left and Russell move across to the right. However, Clement has hinted Weimann starting is not a guarantee, so may be Bent could start in a 4-4-2 or even one of the central midfielders may be handed the job.

If Weimann does start then Hendrick should come in for Butterfield, as he will hope to continue his form from before his illness while Forsyth should keep his spot at left back.

Bryson should return to the bench or could he even make a shock return to first team action. He will surely have to wait his turn but with 3 games coming up in 6 days, it may come sooner than later.

The Millers have not won in 4 games, losing three, but managed a solid score draw at home to Reading.

Joe Newell is back after a foot injury and forward Danny Ward is back in contention after missing the last game against Sheffield Wednesday. Derby defender Farrend Rawdon is ineligible as part of the deal which sees him on loan at Rotherham.

Although he made mistakes against The Owls in their last game, Lee Camp will be hoping for a better performance in what will be his umpteenth return to Derby. They also have experienced campaigners on the pitch in Paul Green and Matt Derbyshire.

Prediction:

Ability of players, the league table and recent results all point to Derby victory. However football is more complicated then that.

Derby will have to work hard to break Rotherham down, produce quality in the final third and take chances when they arrive.

Rotherham have generally lost only by the odd goal and the players will be keen to impress the relatively new management team.

Derby possess the skill, pace and power to cause The Millers problems.

Derby to win 2-0.
