G.M's Match Preview: Derby In A Tight One But I Hope We Smash QPR!
Tuesday, 3rd Nov 2015 07:15 by George Martin

Derby will expect a sterner test from QPR, in comparison to Saturday's good, but comfortable win, against a struggling Rotherham side.

Derby will still be without Tom Ince who is still trying to shake off an ankle injury while George Thorne is suspended for one match due to an accumulation of yellow cards.

If the last 25 minutes from Saturday are to be taken into consideration, then Johnson will play in the CDM role and Hendrick will come in for Thorne, who will look to get close to and beyond Martin.

Weimann will keep his place on the wing after his best 90 minutes and first goal for DCFC, albeit against a bottom three team. Russell will occupy the other wide berth and the full backs should also stay the same with Forsyth and Christie, hopefully the latter can replicate his fantastic man of the match performance against Rotherham.

Charlie Austin could make a welcome return fore QPR to the starting eleven having come on as substitute in their last game, a 1-0 away defeat to Brentford. Chery may drop to the bench as they may play a loan striker to try and contain Derby.

QPR do possess experience and quality in Green, Konchesky, Phillips, Henry and Hoilett. With the players they have, they should really be knocking on the door of the play offs.

However, they have lost their last three away games so it's their home form that has kept them falling further than mid table.

Defender Hill is out with a knee injury and joins long term casualties Sando and Mackie, who are also both injured.

Prediction:

Derby does not have a great winning record at home to QPR and this will be a stern test.

QPR do have pace and trickery to cause defence problems, so the back 5 will have to be full focused throughout. They also have a natural goalscorer in Austin who is a very determined player and can score all types of goals.

Although QPR have had an extra days rest, Derby should have enough in the tank to continue their fine form and run of results.

Derby to win a tight encounter 2-1, but personally I hope we smash them 5-0 after you know what game..........
