G.M's Match Preview: Rams To Take All 3 Points From Struggling City
Tuesday, 15th Dec 2015 06:19 by George Martin

Derby will hope to get back to winning ways after fighting back to achieve a draw against a well organised and impressive Brighton side on Saturday.

Brighton let Derby have the ball in the first half and counter attacked with intent and purpose. This lead to them taking the lead but Derby had the better of the half chances and equalised late on.

Brighton were had more possession in the second half and took a deserved lead after a mix up between Hendrick and Johnson on the half way line. Russell was upended late on and Martin stepped up to cracking on inch perfect penalty in the bottom corner.

Derby have no new injuries from the game with long term absentees Forsyth, Hughes and Bryson still out. Weimann has recovered from a gash to the leg however Russell may come in for him on the wing as Clement may look to freshen things up.

Ince was thankfully more involved and will look for another confidence boosting performance. The midfield three of Thorne, Johnson and Butterfield should stay the same.

Bristol City have found life in the Championship a little difficult and have struggled for consistency, but gained three valuable points away to Huddersfield on Saturday.

Kodjia is influential going forward and ex - Alfreton Town centre back player Flint is solid at the back. Ex Ram Frank Fielding was in fine form on Saturday and made some superb saves.

Prediction:

This will be a different kind of game for Derby compared to Brighton. The expectation of the fans will increase due to the oppositions lowly table position but fans should still be patient.

Bristol are likely to be compact and get 11 men behind the ball early. Derby will need to move the ball quickly and be precise in their attacks. When defending, they need to be very wary at set plays.

Derby should have enough to edge out Bristol and win 2-0 with Ince getting a much needed goal.
