G.M's Match Preview: Will The Rams Recent Form Travel To Charlton?
Saturday, 16th Apr 2016 06:09 by George Martin

Derby will hope to cement a play off place after back to back home victories when they travel to relegation threatened Charlton.

Derby are likely to be with both Hendrick and Johnson still out with injuries Butterfield will keep his place alongside the ever energetic Bryson scurrying around midfield. Hughes played for the U21’s midweek but is likely to continue building up his match fitness from the bench.

Russell and Ince will continue roaming in and off the wings after both scored last weekend and producing a sharp upturn in their performances of late.

Charlton manager Jose Riga could welcome back Icelandic midfielder Johann Berg Gudmundsson after recovering from a head injury that forced him to miss last weekend's match when they fell to QPR.

On loan South Korea defender Yun Suk-Young was also missing against QPR as he was unavailable to play against his parent club, but may be in line for a recall.

With Charlton seemingly a club in turmoil off the field, it may be a affecting the players and impacting the mood on the pitch.

As they stare down the barrel of near certain relegation — only a win will be good enough for them against the Rams.

Prediction:

Whilst it's still mathematically possible for Charlton to stay up, you can be sure they will fight to the very end so the Rams must be wary not to let them dictate early proceedings.

Derby have struggled to reproduce the same type of football we have seen at the iPro away from home and it is yet to be seen if their recent form will travel well.

Derby to draw 1-1 with Butterfield to score.
