What I.Saw: Hull were Tigers, We Were Americans, We Put Men In Space & Did Nothing With Them
Sunday, 15th May 2016 12:28 by I.Saw

Dispirited. Disjointed. Dismal. Derby. We are Derby supine Rams.

Former manager Clement was sacked after one match where we managed not a single shot on target with a squad assembled at a cost of near £25 million.

Yesterday we managed our first and arguably only shot on target after eighty minutes.

It should keep manager Wassall in a job for another three days at the least.

Wassall arms folded, suited, stood resolute, Nigel Clough like, on the touchline.

On the pitch we showed little more movement. Little is an exaggeration perhaps.

Visitors closed us down, two, three men to the ball, Hull were Tigers, we were Americans, we put men in space then did nothing with them.

Hull went one up, then on forty minutes they aided by a deflection scored a second, the scoreboard on the South West Corner slipped quickly over to 0-3 before correcting itself.

It was ahead of itself. In injury time its forecast came true. We lost three nil. If only it could pick my lottery numbers.

What else?

Chris Martin throwing the visitors number 2, Moses Odubajo, to the floor off the ball, deserved to be booked. Petulant, pathetic and pointless.

Player of the season Keogh had a mare.

Ince wimped out of tackles but again is this is a surprise?

Blackman brought on for Russell. It was like taking off a JCB and bringing on a man with a spade when you have a hole to dig.

All credit to Hull, they played well, they deserved their win.

Typing this in the car park waiting for the wisdom of Wassall.

The highlight of the day, the pre match free bacon butties, the beer at the Exeter Arms and the company.

Other than that. I'll rely on Wassall.

“It's only half time”.

“We have a mountain to climb”.

“The first goal was always going to be important”.

“I don't think any of the team selection today caused the result”.

“We have a mountain to climb”.

“Nobody expected this result”.

“We have a mountain to climb”.

Thanks Darren.

Words fail me really.
