What I.Saw: We Say A Little Thank You To The Birmingham Board
Wednesday, 28th Dec 2016 14:27 by I.Saw

Yesterday. Sales. Exeter Arms, beer, Scotch n' Roll before the last game at the iPro, on Saturday it reverts to Pride Park.

Derby, our strongest team, no resting, no squad rotation, just get on with it.

Birmingham, Ryan Shotton dyed hair at Centre Half, the Blues shed of local favourite Gary Rowett.

One minute and forty seconds and it's the "Yam.Yam." chant. Some things never change. "Bankers" they chant back, or something close.

On the pitch I'm reminded of the Rolling Stones first album of the 70's, the one with the zip that you could pull partly down. "Sticky Fingers".

We couldn't get away from the clingy Velcro like attraction of the Blue Shirts and their owners.

It wasn't a great first half.

Second, we get a penalty. Richard Keogh arms in the air is brought down as the corner comes across, similar to one not given in the first forty five.

Darren Bent sends the keeper the wrong way then celebrates by running to the travelling fans hand on ear.

I couldn't hear anything either.

The game opens up, we have chances, their keeper saves well.

Our keeper Scott Carson isn't troubled.

It ends, 1-0, our seventh clear sheet at home, a club record.

We are seventh in the table.

As we wait for the traffic to clear, we say a little thank you to the Birmingham board.

We also wish Rowett all the best; I can't imagine he would have let the Blues play with so little passion and fight.

Not a meaningful shot on target.

Says it all.
