Another product of the Rams' Moor Farm academy, Miles made his first team debut having not long turned seventeen when injuries and suspensions meant he was called up to face Hull City on Easter Monday in 2006.

A strong central defender, he was given his first professional contract in the summer of 2007 when he signed for two years.

The return of the Rams' reserve team in 2007/8 will give him the opportunity to continue his development and that's his main objective this season.
