One of Billy Davies’s signings, Kenny joined the Rams from Celtic, signing a three-year contract in 2007. A Scottish international, who has previously won the Scottish Young Player of the Year Award, he is one of only three players to have played for both Rangers and Celtic; the others being Alf Conn and Mo Johnston.

He started his career at Hibernian, who loaned him to Stenhousemuir, before moving to Rangers. His complete goals tally was 28 in 86 appearances for all three clubs. He was then loaned to Wolves who then signed him for £3 million. He was to stay for 5 years scoring 61 goals in 186 appearances, before moving to Celtic on a Bosman free transfer.

He only stayed one season at Celtic, scoring 11 goals, before joining the Rams in the current season.

Kenny’s international career has had more highlights with some important goals in crucial games, including those against Italy and Ukraine, before Scotland fell at the last hurdle for Euro 2008.
