As of today, RamZone will have a new editor for the first time since the site started. The man in charge is no longer in Norway but even farther away in Australia!

I have been runnning this site since December 1996, when I was only 14 years old and when it was called Arild's cool homepage! It eventually became RamZone and then in 2000 we joined the Rivals network. You can see a picture of how the site looked then by clicking here!

Since then RamZone has always had a great team of writers who has done a great job in giving RamZone a reputation as the quality site for Rams fans, always trying to maintain a high standard in the articles with as much opinion as possible.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this time and it's been a big part of my life for as long as I remember. I've learned a lot and made many great friends, but now after 12 and a half years, I feel like I've come to the end of the line. There is no major event or reason behind this but it's been coming for a while and I have simply run out of steam. This site deserves an editor with a lot of enthusiasm and energy for the job.

The man who will be taking over certainly has a lot of both! You know him from the Derby Down Under column here on RamZone that Daniel J. Sewart has written on Fridays for many years. And if you wonder, it was not a goal that the editor lives overseas! In fact, almost everyone on the RamZone team does live in England, but the whole team agrees that Daniel is the right man for the job.

That is also the beauty of a website that it doesn't really matter where in the world you are, and Derby County is a club with fans from all over the world which RamZone has always taken into account. Daniel does live in a very different time zone though so you might start to see a lot of articles being published in weird hours of the day from now on!

I will remain on the RamZone team, although with no particular assignments (at least to begin with) but I will always be around to help out Daniel when needed. I will of course always remain a Rams fan and I was over to see Watford-Derby just last month and will no doubt be coming over to see the mighty Rams again in not too long!

So it's basically business as usual for RamZone, but Daniel would very much like to hear from you (send him an e-mail to danj.ramzone@bigpond.com) if you have an idea for the site or would like to contribute. Also, feel free to leave a comment after this story or on the forum.

Before I sign off, thank you to everyone who has visited the site over the years! I hope you will continue to visit RamZone and help Daniel in developing this site which still is and always will be made by the fans, for the fans.
