TWTD understands that in addition to the ongoing discussions with Jimmy Bullard, the Blues are in talks with Canadian midfielder Jaime Peters regarding the settlement of his contract. Speaking this morning, chief executive Simon Clegg refused to confirm nor deny that Bullard was set to leave the Blues but the 33-year-old, like Peters, is not at this morningâ€™s open training day.

Town have confirmed that Nathan Ellington, Cheick Kourouma, Arran Lee-Barrett, Jaime Peters, Ronan Murray and Jack Ainsley are in the squad for tonightâ€™s reserves friendly at AFC Sudbury (KO 7.45pm). Also included is 16-year-old Byron Lawrence, while fellow first-year scholar Michael Crowe, a Norwegian who joined the club over the summer from IK Start, travels as sub keeper and may get a run out at some stage.

Nathan Ellington netted his first goal of pre-season as a Town XI beat Blue Square Bet Premier side Braintree 1-0 at Cressing Road. The home team will feel themselves unlucky not to have got something from the game having had the better of the chances and with Ellingtonâ€™s 25-yard second-half strike having taken a big deflection.

Townâ€™s longest-serving player Jaime Peters looks set to leave the Blues this summer with manager Paul Jewell confirming that the club are looking to terminate the Canadian internationalâ€™s contract. Peters was left out of the squad for the pre-season tour of Holland along with striker Nathan Ellington, who Jewell says still has time to resurrect his Town career.
