The futures bright, the futures White!
Fri 20th Jul 2012 20:31

Probably the best news of the summer yet! Aiden White agrees to stay at Leeds and Warnock is delighted.

Ady White has pledged his future to Leeds United by signing a new three-year contract with his boyhood heroes.

In a remarkable turn of events, White has decided to stay at Leeds (we at TEAB.org predicted this was his preferred option) and snub reported interest from Derby, Ipswich, Middlesbrough and Scottish Champions Celtic.

Midweek the Daily Star predicted White was off to Derby in a 1/2 million pound switch. However Nigel Clough revealed the Rams had spoken to White, his status was a free agent but he thought it was "unlikely" he would make the switch down the M1.

Neil Warnock told Leeds United's official website he was "delighted" and predicted White was a big part of his future plans at Elland Road.

We fans will be scratching our heads and wondering why Ady had had a change of heart when he seemed certain to leave and Warnock having signed a new left-back in Adam Drury? Rumours I heard included White wanting between 10-15k per week and someone I know who claims to know his Aunt alleging that all Leeds were prepared to offer was virtually the same terms he was already on.

It will be interesting to learn whether or not White accepted the original deal on the table or Leeds made him a better offer, I doubt this will be revealed though!

The main thing is we retain one of our brighter academy prospects. White has tremendous pace but sometimes his end product is suspect, he is clearly not the finished product but will surely benefit from working with a vastly experienced coach like Warnock!

For the first time in ages we can actually say, the future is bright the future is white!
