"Warnock to be ditched for Sven or.....Peter Taylor!"
Wed 25th Jul 2012 01:40

Talksport listeners would have been shaking their heads in disbelief at claims by middle east based journalist Ben Jacobs who some mightnsaynis indeed crackers!

Jacobs, editor of Sportsweek publication spoke at length about the takeover at Nottingham Forest and the protracted negotiations surrounding Leeds own future.

Jacobs predicted that a deal could go through in the next "2/3 weeks" citing Ramadan as being another factor causing the delay as he named the usual suspect Shiekh Al-Khalifa as heading up a consortium of Bahrain/Saudi based investors preparing to put together a package worth £50m.

Ramadan started last Friday (20th July) and ends on August 18th, the day we face Wolves in our season-opener!

Whilst Leeds fans may well feel there has been a fasting of news out of LS11, some of Mr Jacobs claims seem almost bizarre to be true, particularly over who will be in charge come the long awaited start of the season!

Citing the ruthlessness by Nottingham Forest's Kuwaiti owners in ditching Steve Cotterill, Jacobs claimed he was uncertain that a similar fate may await Neil Warnock, with Sven Goran Erikson and Peter Taylor the shock names to replace him!

Erikson has been out of work since being fired by Leicester last season. He apparently applied for the Leeds job in February when Simon Grayson was sacked but was given a short, sharp, shrift by Ken Bates who made some typically unflattering remarks about Sven's penchant for the ladies.

However another failed Leicester and former England manager Peter Taylor, presently the Bahrain coach was another name Jacobs linked with the Leeds vacancy should the new owners decide to bring their own man in!

Hopefully Mr Jacobs has been out in the sun too much in his UAE base! It seems preposterous that Warnock, his hands effectively tied due to the due diligence process, would be removed in favour of either of the names mentioned.

Warnock has the backing of 99 percent of the fans and providing he gets similar backing of the board, whether they hail from near Battersea or Bahrain then he will deliver promotion unlike a Swedish trouser snake or somebody who somehow managed to take Bradford City backwards!

There is no way on this earth that we would want either of those two to replace NW. In fact, we don't want anyone to replace NW.. we trust and respect the mad old man, lol!!! Warnock is Leeds and the Leeds fans are Warnock. He is contracted for a year and should be given his chance - god he has had to work hard to get this far. His credability within the football world and with fans says everything. Anyway, I think Jacobs is speaking bollocks!

If either one of these two come "I GO"
It has took a long time to get a manager who knows what he is doing (Neil Warnock), no way can we appoint a manager who only takes teams backwards (Sven or Taylor).
On the plus side if either one of them is appointed it will save me a lot of money by NOT going to Elland Road again.
Come on new owners give Warnock a chance ,he has done it for many other clubs and he WILL do it for LUFC.
