Tranmere Turn Down Cresswell Offer
Tranmere Turn Down Cresswell Offer

Tranmere boss Les Parry says his club has turned down an offer from a Championship club for Town target Aaron Cresswell. The 21-year-old left-back is out of contract at Prenton Park having turned down a new deal but with Rovers entitled to compensation as he is under 24 years of age.

Parry said: "I spoke to Aaron yesterday and we've had a bid from a Championship club which we've turned down. It was way lower than we expect for him.

"We're expecting everyone including [Bayern Munich target] Dale [Jennings] and Cresser to turn up on Wednesday 29th [for pre-season training] because they've got a contractual obligation to us. Until they go, they're still ours."

Various sources in the North-West have previously reported that Cresswell is close to joining the Blues with the player having been able to talk to other clubs and potentially sign a pre-contract agreement since January.
