Neil Warnock today revealed Leeds have offered an improved deal to try and persuade El Hadji Diouf his future is at Elland Road.

Diouf has played a part in all of United's matches this term making Warnock eager to turn his non-contract status into something more permanent.

Diouf played well last night, creating Tom Lee's goal and left to a warm reception from the home crowd, many of whom have been won over by his performances initially being hostile towards him due to his colourful past!

However our hard-to-please fans are not the only ones to notice Diouf and reportedly up to 10 clubs are tracking his progress.

Not to mention Neil Warnock and the plans he has for the player he famously described as "a sewer rat".

"We've spoken to his man again and offered him an increased contract. Whether it's sufficient or not we'll find out," Warnock told the Yorkshire Evening Post today.

"But that's why I brought him off. The crowd were fabulous when he left the pitch and I hoped that might just push him into signing.

"I've said to him, it's not about money. He's got enough of that. It's about playing in this stadium for a team like this. It's about realising what he can do for us."

If Diouf was seriously considering an offer from elsewhere, then I am surprised he agreed to play for us last night and risk injury which could have left him without a club full stop.

However the pathetic and amateurish way in which we run things behind the scenes, then I will not be satisfied until the ink is dry on any contract Leeds agree with the twice African footballer of the year.
