The whites' upset the form book last night at Elland Road by beating highly fancied Everton on a foul, wet night at ER which was lit up by Aidy Whites first goal of his Leeds career.

Whilst pundits were baffled by David Moyes decision to make six changes to the side that beat Swansea on Saturday, little was mentioned about Neil Warnocks enforced changes with SEVEN players out with injury.

Despite being roared on by 5,000 Everton were stunned when, Leeds took the lead inside just four minutes, Aidy White latched on to Diouf's pass and showed Fellani a clean pair of heels, firing home a stunning shot past Micha to put Leeds in front.

The response from the third-placed Premiership side was not forthcoming and clearly they were not relishing the high tempo effort from Warnock's men nor the conditions, Becchio and Tonge might have even put Leeds further in front as the first half drew to a satisfying end for Warnock's men.

Everton's lacklustre showing drew a response from Moyes, who sent on Pienaar and Phillip Neville after the break, Everton then enjoyed arguably their best spell Pienaar shot over and Naismith dragged a chance wide when it looked certain the visitors would equalise.

However on 68 minutes the seemingly impossible happened when Pugh, transfer-listed and back from the cold struck Diouf 's short corner goalbound and Rodolph Austin cheekily back heeled Leeds into dreamland with his third of the season.

Leeds just kept on running and battling, a nervy final nine minutes was in store when Distin latched on to a looping high ball to head past Ashdown and Everton had two penalty shouts waved away by ref Lee Mason when a fierce drive cannoned off Pearce's shoulder and the same player looked to have manhandled Anichebe to the ground inside the box.

Pearce, who's forehead was held together by eight stitches and a bandage, fellow central defender Tom Lees also sustained a nasty head wound but than summed up Leeds, battered and brilliant!
