Shefki Kuqi insists that Swans fans are yet to see the best of him

The Swansea City striker is ready to return to action when the team returns for pre season training next week and he insists that the best is yet to come after a promising - but at times frustrating - start to his Swansea career.

Kuqi scored some and missed several more in his time at the club last season with the Swans missing out on the play offs on the last day of the season.

But that doesn't seem to worry the striker who looked forward to the new season when talking to the Evening Post "Wherever I've been, I've never worried about who is in the team or what other strikers are there," he said.

"I've always believed in myself and my ability.

"I think I'm experienced enough and strong enough.

"I always have targets, but I like to keep these things quiet," said the former Crystal Palace, Ipswich and Blackburn forward.

"If I wanted to just get paid, I could have stayed in Germany, but I want to enjoy my football.

"I know what I can do, I have confidence in my ability and I'm strong.

"Last season wasn't an easy one for me because at first I had to stay in a hotel and organising things was difficult.

"Now I've got to know the players and the club so this year will be different.

"I'm confident about the manager more than anything else.

"I know what he wants and that makes me believe we can get stronger.

"If he gets the players he wants we will be a very good team."
