Blades in Hunt for whites' striker?
Wednesday, 3rd Sep 2014 22:18

Sheffield United are apparently keen to take Noel Hunt on loan when the emergency loan market opens next week.

The Blades were rumoured to be keen to land captain Jason Pearce but fortunately nothing came of it now it appears their attention has turned to flop striker Noel Hunt.

The 31-year-old signed for Leeds in the summer of 2013 on a free-transfer, however the Eire international is rumoured to be one of the best paid players at the club. He has yet to find the net for Leeds and since his mentor Brian McDermott left at the end of the season he is lucky to find a seat on the bench these days.

It seems that the writing is on the wall for Hunt so here's hoping we can do a deal to get him off our wage bill and clear out another surplus-to-requirements player inherited from the old regime.
