Leeds are obviously so delighted having signed Palermo duo Sol Bamba and Granddi Ngoyi on loan, they look set to let Jason Pearce and Rudy Austin move to fellow-strugglers Wigan.

Eyebrows will no doubt be raised at the prospect of us supplying two players to one of our challengers at the bottom of the table, but as the north was braced for more snow it looks like Jason Pearce and Rudy Austin will be hot-footing it over the Pennines to the DW Stadium.

Over the weekend Leeds completed the loan signings of Bamba and Ngoyi, a central defender and midfielder from the Italian serie A side Palermo so the two former skippers look surplus to requirements.

Fair enough, both have been on the fringes this term, however Austin has recently returned to the midfield and looked to be back at his marauding best in recent weeks, even if his shooting is still a little wayward. The Jamaican international will be out of contract in the summer and maybe he has hinted he does not wish to hang around for much longer.

Wigan are believed to have agreed a combined fee of £1.5m for the pair. Both joined in the summer of 2012 under the reign of Neil Warnock. Pearce, 27, joined from Portsmouth for an undisclosed fee whilst 29-year-old Austin arrived from SK Brann.

Whilst it is fair to say both player's achievements were modest in their spells at Elland Road, you could never question their desire to put on the white shirt and try their best. I assume a so-called embarrassment clause will be negotiated into any deal so should it all go through them both players will sit out on March 7th when Leeds head to Wigan seeking revenge for the 2-0 Boxing Day defeat!
